Car Stereos: Cadillac CTS 2005, cadillac cts, subwoofer output

Question
I want to connect an amp and subs to my factory stereo. Can i use a PAC SNI-45T line out converter? The factory radio does has a Bose package. The only wires i'll be able to connect to it the subwoofer, because it doesn't have 2 full range speakers. The amp that im using is a mono 1 channel amp.Can i just connect both sets of wires on the (SNI-45T) to factory sub?

Answer
Hi Steve,

Sounds like you've got the right idea: the SNI-45T should work perfectly in this case, and the factory subwoofer wiring is the right spot to connect it.  If there are only two wires going to the factory sub, you can combine the LOC's positive wires together and connect both the the positive subwoofer wire; then do the same with the negative wires.

You may have to keep the factory sub connected, however; based on my own experience with a CTS Bose system, the factory amplifier may shut off the subwoofer output if you disconnect the sub.  This would prevent sound from reaching the LOC as well.  Hopefully the factory sub isn't blown, so you can keep it connected to the amplifier.

Good luck!
