Car Stereos: XD1222 am/fm/CD Receiver, price target, power amplifier

Have purchased 2 of these and installed. Work fine at first but after a day the radio stopped working in both units. The cd player works fine and the aux and usb work fine. Have any suggestions or history of these stereos??

I don't have any experience with this particular model, but just from the look of it, I suspect the manufacturer made some design compromises to get you a head unit with a USB connection and an extremely low price point.  For example, the rated power output of 5 watts per channel is about a quarter what you'd find in most entry-level head units.  The power amplifier doesn't have anything to do with the tuner, but it wouldn't surprise me if the tuner section was chosen to meet a price target as well.

The fact that the radio worked when each unit was first installed makes it unlikely that the problem is caused by an installation error, or an antenna problem in the vehicle.  Unfortunately, I suspect it's just a matter of "you get what you pay for".
