Car Stereos: what happen!!!!, dodge ram 1500, fuse box

i had a check engine light on so i go down to get it checked out at a auto place and they pluged there deal in and puff my cd player goes out. its a jvc it dont even turn on no fuses are blown nothing.it a 98 dodge ram 1500. the fuse behide the cd player is good also. and i just found out my dome light dont work. please help

I'm not sure what caused your problem, but I'd definitely double-check the fuses.  The dome light failure is a clue, because often the radio's memory wire and the dome light circuit are powered through the same fuse.  According to my information, you'll want to look at fuse #8 and #12 in the fuse box on the driver's side dash end-cap.
