Car Stereos: Amp hooked to AC/DC coverter..., ac dc converter, roadmaster speakers

Question
Okay so I have a Pioneer head unit hooked to 2 roadmaster speakers, the stereo and the speakers are all mounted in a box.  Just a little set up for my garage.  I have two subs in another box my brother gave me, and have them hooked up to the stereo but I have a amp I want to hook them to.  Right now, everything is hooked to a AC/DC converter and plugged into a wall socket...  Should I just wire the power and ground and auto-turn on in with how I have my stereo powered? I was just wondering before I hooked anything up.  I have a 1600 watt Pyramid Amp is that matters.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Answer
Hi Ryan,

The limiting factor here will be the current capacity of the AC/DC converter.  If your power supply can produce enough current for the amplifier (the size of the fuse built into the amp can give you a rough idea of the current required) then you can just make the power and ground connections, and wire the remote turn-on wire to the blue/white remote output on the head unit.  If your power supply can't supply enough current, however, you may damage it by connecting the amplifier.

Hope this helps!
