Car Stereos: 2003 Silverado radio swap, radio swap, factory radio

I want to swap an AM/FM radio to an AM/FM CD player all factory both out of 2003 silverados. Is there any way of bypassing the Class 2 Serial Data so it will work and not lock up?

Hi Chris,

Sorry, there's no way that I know of.  The factory radio in the 03+ Silverado only works with the data bus system, so if you're swapping radios, you can't avoid the Theftlock feature.   You'll need to have a dealer reset it for you before it will work in the new truck.
