Car Stereos: Cadillac cts oem amp Replacement, cadillac cts, mono amp

Question
Hello, I have an 05 Cadillac CTS w/o Bose. I am looking to do my stereo system.  I am keeping the oem headset, I have already replaced the door speakers and have a subwoofer w/ an amp feeding off the oem subwoofer line. What I am intending on doing is to install a MTX bass restorer Rq-5, then remove the oem amp and install a 4 channel amp in its place for the door speakers and then feed off the oem subwoofer line for my mono amp w/ subwoofer. I will be installing all componets in the other that they were mentioned. My question is that will it be as easy as it sounds to do that, will there be any type of hidden electrical knowledge that I would need to know before were to do this? I believe it should only be swapping out the amp and configure the wires as required. Please share any knowledge that you would have on this matter.

Answer
Hi José,

Based on the fact that you're replacing nearly everything, I wouldn't bother tapping into anything -- I'd just start fresh and run all new wire to do that.  Save yourself the headache of removing OEM stuff and using OEM quality wires (which may very well be not strong enough for the output you're going for.)
