Car Stereos: Adding amp/speakers to PT Cruiser, boston accoustics, watts rms

Question
QUESTION: Can an amp and 2 additional 3 way speakers be added to the stock stereo on a 2006 PT Cruiser Touring Edtion without removing any of the current system.  I wanted to add and not replace what is currently in there but not sure if this is possible.

QUESTION: Hi again. I'm not sure on the speaker model other than they are JVC three way rated at 100 watts RMS at 6 ohms.  The amp I wanted to use with them was a Blitz BZA-2290 rated at 125 watts RMS at 4 ohms for each channel.  I'm a little spoiled with the Bose stereo in my 2005 Pathfinder LE so I wanted to add a little more juice to the current system in my 2006 PT Cruiser but, as you can probably tell, I'm not an expert in that field. Any insights are a great help.  Thanks so much for your previous response and I look forward to the next one.

Answer
Hey Raul.

Well if you are looking for full sound expierence like the bose system, you might want to maybe add a subwoofer and replace the door speakers, because  adding more mids and highs the lack of bottom (Bass) its gonna be noticeable.

i did some research on the speaker sizes that you need

(without boston accoustics sound system)
front speakers
dash : 3-1/2"
Front Door : 6-3/4"
Rear speakers
Rear Door : 6-3/4"

this info is provided by:

i dont know the accuracy of this site so you might wanna double check on the sizes first.

what i would do if i was you i would get me 2x component sets with a cross over and tweeter and excange the factory speakers on your doors (i believe there is plenty of room inside the door panel to mount the crossover) then use that amplifier for those then get a little subwoofer and another amp to add the bottom end of your music.

thats my advise now if you are 100% determined not to change your factory system you can alwayz add more speakers.

if you need any more help as far as the installation or whatever you have in mind let me know. ill gladly try to help
