Car Stereos: 2010 Corolla - Amp and Sub installation, hyundai elantra gt, 2004 hyundai elantra

Question
Hi,

I saw your prvious answer to another questions about this and saw that you said the head unit will not have the RCA outputs that I will need. Do you know this for a fact on this particular model? I am just asking to save myself the trouble of removing the head unit to check. Thanks a lot and if you know of any other problems i may run into please advise!

Answer
Hi Jeff,

I don't know about the 2010 Corolla, specifically; I haven't taken one apart yet.  However, I have never, ever seen a Toyota stock radio that was equipped with RCA outputs.  In fact, I only know of a few factory radios, of any make, that are equipped with the outputs; almost invariably, they're re-badged after-market head units.  (For example, the 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT had an option for a Kenwood CD head unit; it was identical to an after-market Kenwood but had a Hyundai logo instead of a Kenwood badge).

If you have a standard stock Toyota radio, I feel pretty confident when I say it's very unlikely to have RCA outputs.  There's simply no reason for an OEM radio manufacturer to build this feature into a head unit.

Hope this helps!
