Car Stereos: Matching Brands, alpine amplifier, sound system components

Question
When choosing sound system components, such as a deck, amp, sub, and speakers.  Is it better to match the brands a.k.a. Kenwood with Kenwood, or Alpine with Alpine?  Or does it not matter as long as the RMS, impedance, etc. Matches.  Also, if you match the brands are you going to get a better sounding system vs if it was mixed and matched?

Answer
Hi Jeff,

There's really no advantage to matching brand names between head units, amplifiers, speakers, and subwoofers.  An Alpine sub won't necessarily sound better with an Alpine amplifier, compared to a comparable amplifier of another brand.  Also, note that some of the very best manufacturers of speakers and subwoofers don't make amplifiers or head units.

Hope this helps!
