Car Stereos: 2002 Avalanche, scott hope, kenwood stereo

Scott, hope you can help. Purchased a Kenwood stereo unit along with the aftermarket wiring harness to adapt to factory harness. My factory stereo has 2 harnesses. I believe the the other one that I didn't use is for the factory amp but not sure. Once I hooked up the new Kenwood I get no sound from speakers. Could this be because I need to hook up the other wires from the harness I didnt use? It looks like I have a red, black green and 3 black/white wires. Not sure how I would do this if I can. Your help is greatly appreciated. I dont usually mess with stereos but I thought I would save myself some $$$. Thanks for the help.

Chris, You may be correct on that.  Either way, there should be an adapter that works with both plugs.  I would call the tech line at crutchfield.com and ask them which adapter you need.  Whether you want to order it through them or get it somewhere else, they will tell you the model number that you need.  Hope this helps, Scott
