Answer
Tom, you can get it repaired.  The cost of the repair will be determined on how damaged the unit is.  There are two better options for you.  First, and cheapest, you can find used factory units on ebay or your local salvage yard.  Both guarantee they work, and they both cost under $50.  However, a second, slightly costlier alternative would be to replace the stereo with an aftemarket stereo.  The cost would be between $100 and $200 for the radio and mounting hardware.  The best part about this option, is that you get to pick out a radio that has features that you may desire, like hooking up an ipod or mp3 player or playing cds with mp3 songs on them.  A cd with mp3 songs on it, can hold over 200 songs.  Hope this helps, Scott
