Car Stereos: sony speaker crackling, sony xplod, cd mp3 player

I just bought s sony car audio system. It is the Sony Xplod GT09HP CD/MP3 Player System with 4 Speakers.I installed the cd player and the front speakers. One speaker sounds great at all levels up to 43. The other crackles when the volume is loud and the bass hits. I dont think its a problem with the system its self. The wiring is good too. Any ideas?

Tim, I would switch the two front speakers with each other.  If the problem moves to the other side, then you know the problem is the speaker.  If it stays on that side, you know it is in the wiring.  The problem could be either one.  Once you know which it is, you can replace the speaker or start looking at wiring problems.  Hope this helps, Scott
