Car Stereos: 2994 Tahoe stereo, fuse panels, wifes

The battery on my wifes 2004 Tahoe went bad, I replaced it and everything works fine except the radio.  There is nothing on the display, as if it does not have power.  I pulled the radio out and there is 12volts to the orange and black wires, all the fuses are good.  Any suggestions??

Hi Mark,

There's actually 3 wires you need to check.  I don't know the colours off-hand, but there should be 12V to ground from one wire all the time, and 12V to ground when the car is in accessory or on, but not when it's off.

If those don't all have power, it won't come on.

Also, most vehicles these days have 2 fuse panels.  One under the dash, and one under the hood.  Make sure you check both.

Finally, if all that doesn't fix it, you probably just have a fried deck on your hands.
