Car Stereos: Subwoofer/amp installation, subwoofer amplifier, subwoofer amp

Question
I will be installing a subwoofer/amplifier into the stereo system of my new 2010 Subaru WRX.  Since I know it doesn't have line-level outputs, does it matter if I use the high levels of the front or rears?  I was going with rear because it seems like convention, and a little degradation there won't be as noticed as in the front.
Thanx!

Answer
Hi Jesse,

It really doesn't matter which speaker outputs you choose for your high-level connections.  The rear speaker wires are as good as any.  I've never noticed any signal degradation in the stock speakers after connecting a high-level input or line output converter; but your reasoning seems sound to me.  The only thing you need to be certain of is that the speaker wires you're tapping are carrying the full audio range, and don't have a crossover that filters out the deep bass.  If your WRX has the standard audio system, the front and rear outputs should be full range, and you shouldn't have a problem.

Hope this helps!
