Pontiac Repair: 91 bonneville Warning lamp, high beams, head lamps

Question
On my 91 bonneville, the headlight and taillight warning lamps stay on after I start the car. The only way to get them to turn off if if I turn the headlights on and them back off, the headlight warning lamp will turn off.  Then if I turn high beams on and then off, the taillight warning lamp will go off.  This is just a nuisance, any ideas?

Answer
Hi Gary:

It sounds like it may be a lamp control module that is acting up on this car. It was pretty common on those cars either the module it's self would go bad or they had issue where the connectors going into the module woul melt from the high current draw the halogen head lamps have one or the other is the issue here. The lamp control module is under the dash near the steering column on those older ones. Good luck :)
