i have my alpine installed in a 1994 cadillac fleetwood and will play for a short min and shut off head unit and intire audio system. but just a few seconds later turns back on with same memory, i cant figure it out

Hi John,

Your issue is either overheating, or loose wiring.

I'd start with overheating.  You can quickly and easily rule that out if it happens almost instantly.  Alternatively, you can check with your hand on the deck itself.

If it's not overheating, then you're likely dealing with a bad wire connection somewhere (likely in the accessory wire if it isn't forgetting its settings or where it was on the CD when it went off).
