if i hook rca's up to the amp then plug it in 2 my laptop it doesnt do it like that only when its hooked up the cd player.

ANSWER: Cody, it sounds like some mixed up wiring somewhere.  I would double check the stereo wiring and follow it all the way to where you are hooking into them.  You should see what the problem is that way.  Hope this helps, Scott

QUESTION: alright i un hooked everything and re hooked it all back up.

Could it just be bad outputs on the deck?

Answer
If you are running RCAs from the radio to the amp, the radio may have some problem.  If you are running speaker level wires to the amp, the amp inputs may be the problem.  Be sure the RCA plugs are not hitting any metal surfaces as this may affect the output.  A stereo shop should be able to diagnose your radio for malfunction.  I have never had that type of malfunction myself, but it is possible.  Good Luck, Scott
