Car Stereos: power question, watts rms, 4 ohms

Question
Is this amp - model number SON9-XMZR1852 powerful enough to support subwoofer model number 06S15L74?

Answer
Kurt,  Yes there would be enough power to support your sub. Unfortunately, it would be about 185 watts rms into 2 channels at 4 ohms.  You would not be able to bridge the amp, because both voice coils are 4 ohms each.  If you bridge them, you would have 2 ohms into 1 channel.  That amp does not support 2ohms x 1 channel.  I suppose you could just wire up the one coil, and you would get around 400 watts rms into 1 channel at 4 ohms.  I would look for an amp that was stable to 2 ohms in bridged mode.  Hope this helps, Scott
