Car Stereos: Which amp to get and factory amp help, kicker solobaric l5, monte carlo ss

Question
Car Stereos: Which amp to get and factory amp help, kicker solobaric l5, monte carlo ss
Subs
I am getting 2 12" Kicker SoloBaric L5's 4-ohms with 1200w peak and 600w RMS if you could list out some amps that would power these to full potential that would be great also they only come with one spot to hook up the speaker wire in the box that that they are coming in just in case that helps with anything. And also I'm wondering if the factory amp in my car (2000 Monte Carlo SS) could still power my 6x9's after i put in these subs my new headunit (Kenwood DDX512) and my new 6x9's (Infinity Kappa 693.9I). And if you have any suggestions on changing anything to get more bass don't be afraid to say anything. Thanks in advance

Answer
Jesse,

Sounds like a good setup.  Your new headunit will not have enough power to keep your highs and mids up with your subs, but it will be pretty loud.  If you want maximum power from your sub box, you will need an amp that puts out 600 watts rms x 1 channel @ 4ohms.  A couple that I would look at are Kenwood KAC-X1R and Alpine MRP-M1000.  These are both good midrange amps.  They are not cheapos, and they are not super high-end.  If you would like a high-end amp, you could look at the JL Audio G-Max with full class-D circuitry.  Of course, to keep your mids and highs even close to that amount of sound, you would need a 6x9 amplifier of about 100 watts rms per channel at 2 ohms.  Your new headunit is going to have about 45 watts per channel available.  For the record, 300 watts of subwoofer power, will give you a serious headache.  I do not recommend anyone sitting in their car with more than 300 watts of bass playing.  Hope this helps, Scott
