hello thanks for time im havig trouble whith ths amp over heating shuting of on protec after 30 min high vol use. the store so far i have this amp running jl evo 6.5 splits peak 150 rms nom 75. jl 12v3 300rms and ov ch 3/4 briged to sub on low pas. gains set about 1/2 on 3/4 1-2 chanels 4 gauge wireing and realy good earth good battery cable ect ect. amp only month old prob ther from day one sent back to alpine no falt found tecs cant falt instal what am i to do??

Nathan, It is clear that the amp is overheating.  When you are running an amp at full power, it will build up heat.  You must help the amp dissipate heat faster than it can make it.  There are 2 ways to do this.  First, you mount the amp in a highly circulating area or you mount a cooling fan above the amp to cool it.  Second, you buy an amp with class D circuitry that is wired to build up heat much slower than the class A or B amps.  In this case, it would prolong the cutting out by more than three times the amount of time.  That is really the only way to address the problem.  If it clipped out under ten minutes, I might suggest some wiring issues.  It is clear to me that wiring is definitely not the problem.  Most likely the amp is in a bad spot.  Hope this helps, Scott
