Car Stereos: symphony radio wont stay on, dirt buildup, symphony radio

Hi... i have a 1993 cadillac deville with the symphony radio installed.. there is no antenna on the car cause it broke.. but sometimes ill drive and ill pick up a station and as soon as i push any button the whole radio shuts off and wont come back on... the clock works and at night time everything lights up but then nothing else... sometimes when i turn the car on the stereo comes on and i can put a tape in and listen to it as long as i dont touch any nobs...

It sounds like inside the radio, on the circuit board there is either a dirt buildup or something that is on there shorting it out, you can attempt to take it apart and spray electrical cleaner. But to be honest you can get a nice radio for $100 now, it may be time to replace it.
