Car Stereos: Amp, mtx subs, watt amp

i just installed 2 10" MTX subs and a 400 watt amp... and my car wont start quickly, it takes 10 seconds or more to get the engine to start. but when i undo the amp it stops, and acts normal, can you help?

Derrick, Usually it takes an amp a few seconds to fire up, so it should not be causing the problem.  Without knowing what model of car that you have and whether or not it has a central computer.  To accommodate the unhooking option, you can wire a manual switch or a timer relay to power the amp on after the car has been started, and this will solve the problem.  Hope this helps, Scott
