Car Stereos: help, pontiac g6, inline fuse

Question
How to hook up subwoofers to a pontiac g6 factory radio?

Answer
benjamin,

Most times subs and amps are mounted in the trunk.  If your car is currently fitted with a factory amp, you may be able to rob power from it.  Otherwise, you splice into the rear deck speaker wires to provide signal to the amp.  Then, you run power wire and remote wire both through the cab (under the door molding) then up under the dash.  You can buy a fusebox adapter that provides an additonal lead for your remote wire.  Then, drill a hole through the firewall and run the main power wire up to the battery.  It is important to install an inline fuse within a foot of the battery to prevent anything shorting out.  Third, but not least, you must connect your ground wire as close to the amp as possible to a metal body part.  That is it.  Hope this helps, Scott
