Car Stereos: 2001 ford taurus, ford taurus, harness kit

Question
I installed an after market stereo with the wiring harness kit. Before I got the kit I cut all wires and tried without the kit, bad idea. I spiced all wires back with scotch locks. Well its all hooked up now except my front right speaker isn't working. Do you have any idea witch wires would control the fr speaker? I'm guessing it will be in the trunk. I'm think maybe i have a bad connection somewhere Do you have any idea where or what color wire that might be?

Answer
Hi Adam,

A 2001 Taurus is about that last car I'd want to try doing without the proper kit and harness.  The factory amplifier/tuner pack is located in the trunk, mounted on the back of the driver's side wheel under the liner.   There are no speaker wires at all at the back of the factory head unit, which is really only a cassette player and control interface.  I have the front speaker wires listed as orange/green (+) and blue/white (-).  They should be located side-by-side in the largest plug at the factory amp.

Hope this helps!
