Car Stereos: Aftermarket car stereo, ford wiring, ford taurus

Question
This will be my first installation involving audio on my 2002 Ford Taurus SE. I
need a new faceplate and radio but I've been reading up for a few hours and
see that there are many potential problems, and several solutions floating
around.

Basically, I'm looking for some input as to whether or not, from all my
research, I will have what I need to get the job done.

Here is the faceplate:

Installation instructions for faceplate:

Here is the radio:

Here are some wiring details:

Lastly, I need to buy some "U" shaped tools at walmart to get the stock
faceplate off.

Any input on this project would be greatly appreciated, I'm not very keen on
what I need to do with wiring, I hope the instructions are very detailed.
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Lawrence,

There should be nothing difficult about your install -- it's all pretty standard.

MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE WIRING HARNESS.  The "Ford Wiring" link should be meaningless to you, as you should be just connecting like wires from the new deck's wiring to your car's factory wiring.

The links you pasted to the faceplate are broken (it looks like wherever you copied them from shortened them and they're now unreadable and unusable.)

Either way, the faceplate that's designed for your car with the HVAC controls on the bottom of it is what you want.  The Scsoche FD1380 is an example of what you need.

You'll also need an antenna adapter to hook it up.

That should be all you need, and you should be good to go.
