Question
Hi?

before i ran my fuse to the ignition wishing no problem could accur thinking it was the fastest and easier way to gain power...
but today my amp loss power as i connected it staright to the subs.
still no power up untill now but a few times in the morning before i had to work i let my car idle and so it plays but for a while and then dies out again!
untill i disconnected everything and reconnected it again but this time nothing plays the amp has no signal nor the light comes on...i really don't know what's the problem but everything is working especially my remote wire has power to my radio but still fail to power up!
any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Colord,

It sounds like your amp has gone into thermal protection.  Either your speakers haven't been connected right, or maybe one of them has gone bad and isn't providing the right resistance anymore so the amp is turning off to protect itself.

Disconnect your speakers from the amp entirely and turn on the system.  Does the amp turn on and stay on?  If so, then you've got a fried speaker.  Reconnect them one by one and see if one of them causes it to turn off.  Then you'll know you have a bad speaker.

If the amplifier turns off with no speakers connected and with good power connected, the amp is fried.
