Car Stereos: help car amp, car amp, speaker wires

ok my amp will turn on for a slit sec. and turns off and i did not hook up my amp backwards i did not blow any fuses or anything and my remote has power whats wrong

Hi AyJay,

The first thing to is disconnect *EVERYTHING* from the amp except for its power -- RCAs, speaker wires, etc.  Then see if it turns on and stays on.  If it does, reconnect things one at a time until you figure out what it is that's popping it.

If you have blown speakers and the provided impedance isn't high enough, the amp might be turning off to protect itself from damage.

If it still does that when everything but power ground and remote are connected, the amp is either connected wrong, or shot.
