I have absolutely no experience installing car stereos,I  took the factory stereo out and the plugs do not fit into the new stereo, I asked a guy I know and he said something about an adapter that would cost around twelve dollars.How will I know what adapter to buy and where do I get one?

Hi Talia,

Any local car audio or big box electronics store should sell what you're looking for.  You'll need to visit them and tell them you're installing an aftermarket stereo into your car.  They'll need to know the year, make and model of your car, and they can get you all of the hardware you'll need for the install, which will likely be a harness, and possibly an antenna adapter and dash kit.

You'll need to crimp or solder the connectors of the new adapter you get to the adapter that came with the deck.  Then clip everything in place, and you're good to go.
