Car Stereos: 06 Acura Tl, line level inputs, channel amp

Question
I am disappointed with the performance of the stock system. At maximum volume the driver and passenger can communicate easily. All the settings are accurate and the unit has good clarity. What is the simplest way to boost the volume or amplitude without replacing too many components.

Answer
Hi Jody,
The simple solution here is to add an amplifier to your set up. If it's a good strong 4 channel amp, your existing speakers should have no problem accommodating the additional demands as long as you don't drive the system to the point of distortion.
You will need to purchase an amp that has line level inputs (meaning it can accept input directly from a speaker output on your deck) or any aftermarket amp can be used if you purchase line level adaptors from your local car audio shop.
Remember that the amp is only as good as it's install, so if you're not 100% confident in your ability to install it correctly, do yourself a favor and lay down the labor charges to have a pro install it for you.
Good luck!
