Car Stereos: Bose sub-woofer replacement, replacement speakers, exact specs

Question
Hi,

I have a Maxima 04 with Bose stereo, the right side sub-woofer on the rear is blown, the sound is bad when I increase the bass. How do I get them replaced?
Can I replace both the subs with jbl P-1000?

Thanks,
Selva

Answer
Selva,

I would consult with Crutchfield.com . They have the exact specs for each and every model of car out there with all the different options.  They can let you know what is compatible with the space and power available with your model and options.  Then, you can take that information and look for suitable replacements.  Also, their prices are very competitive with other retailers, so you may end up buyig from them.  Many times, I use their online catalog to research answers for people like you asking for advice.  The problem with me doing that with your specific question is I don't think they will have enough information available on their online catalog.  They do have the information, you will probably have to call for specific specs, but you can get them.  Once you have the exact specs, you can shop for replacement speakers that will meet the size, power, and resistance requirements of your system.  Hope this helps, Scott
