Car Stereos: radio repair, aiwa cd, radio repair

i have an aiwa cd player (cdc-x217) in my truck that wont play cds. when I put a cd in it rattles a little bit. it sounds like the cd is not aligned properly in the player. is there anything i can do to fix this. i cant afford another cd player right now. thank you so much!!!!!!!

Your diagnosis is correct.  Most car audio cd players are not made very solid, and once they get jammed up, they usually get bent and do not work properly any more.  They are starting to build new cd players that are more durable and hold up much better to roughness of the road, but the older ones are fragile.  You can get it repaired for about $100, but you could just buy a new one for that price.  Hope this helps, Scott
