Car Stereos: car stereo, chevy malibu, buying speakers

I have a 1998 Chevy Malibu and i need to find out what my maximum depth of my front door speakers. I think they are    4 x 6 but I'm not sure about that either. If you could tell me the depth and size I would greatly appreciate that thanks.

Hi John,
You are correct that the speaker size is 4x6 in your vehicle.
I am unable to find a listing for the actual depth of that location though, sorry.
I've checked both installdr.com and crutchfield.com to see if that depth is posted. To my (and your) disappointment, it's not listed.
You just might have to resort to yanking a door panel and measuring it yourself. (I'd normally do that anyways... rarely will I trust buying speakers based on a posted measurement without checking it myself... but that might be my OCD.. haha)
