Car Stereos: 2002 mustang stereo, ford stereos, aftermarket radio

Question
is there any way i can add an ipod to my stereo?i have gone to a number of stereo stores, and they all tell me that ford stereos can not be altered to install an ipod.Does ford make a stereo that is ipod ready?or, is there a stereo out there that i can install without changing out my whole speaker system?why did ford make it so hard to buy a stereo for this car? thank you so much for your answer (good or bad)

Answer
Danny,
Many factory stereos are coming around to new technology, but not very quickly.  I do believe that there is an FM transmitter that you can plug your ipod into, and it will transmit over a certain frequency that your radio can pickup.  Also, I believe there is an inline antenna adapter that works similarly, using your radios tuner to hear your ipod.  As far as aftermarket stereos, there are a few manufacturers that have ipod controls built into the radio.  I recommend Alpine, for both connectability and quality of sound.  They make adapters and harnesses to adapt any aftermarket radio to your car's special wiring needs.  The best place to research and buy these is crutchfield.com . They will send you everything you need for your installation.  Hope this helps, Scott
