Car Stereos: jensen cd player, power speakers, q power

Question
i have a jensen cd player, with a 4000 wt. mono block amp, and 2 15in.q power speakers. With just the  radio on, i can jam my system and my bass thumps awesome. However, when i put a cd in, and turn my system up, when ever some heavy bass starts in, the cd starts cutting in and out, like its skipping, though i know its not, and it only happens when it goes to hit heavy bass. Please rememember that this does not occur when i only have the am fm radio on....any clue as to why my stereo sounds like its having a heart attacj when my bass hits heavy on the cd player but not the am fm, and how to fix it???????much thanx for any help and/or advise.

Answer
Justin,

You do not think the hard hitting bass can cause the cd to skip?  It can and usually does in lower end players.  You have to get a nicer player that has skip memory and will make up for times when the cd skips.  I would recommend any Alpine unit.  Although Jensen has some cool units out there, they do not beef them up for big systems like the higher end companies do.  Sony, Clarion, Alpine, Nakamichi, etc.  The only other possible problem could be the amp maxing out and cutting out at the heavy hitting parts, but you should still hear the highs coming from your other speakers whenever this happens.  If so, you just need to turn your amp down a touch and you should be fine.  Hope this helps, Scott
