Car Stereos: do not have onstar, gmrc, door chimes

you have answered my questions so well!!!  My best friend has the same stereo in his vehicles and it will support all the USB options we are interested in using....  thank you for your concern!!  Your suggestions were very soothing to the novice wife!!!  As to the Harness.... we DO NOT have Onstar, so thanks for the suggestion!!! all other functions will still be ok right?

Hi Katrina,

If you use the GMRC-01 harness in your link, the vehicle warning chime functions will be retained and the new radio will work like the factory one does (staying on after the key is off until you open the door, for example).  The door chimes will play through the adapter module, not through the driver's door speaker any more.
