Answer
Hi Donna,

Actually, this is the first I've heard of a JVC CD player that uses an anti-theft code.  I've installed lots of JVC decks, but none used an anti-theft system.  Is the CD player displaying an "enter code" or "locked" message, or is it just not working?

Kenwood uses a code-based anti-theft system on many of their decks.  In those, the deck's owner sets the original anti-theft code; so if the code is lost, there's no way to find it out.  A Kenwood dealer might be able to reset the deck, but they'd probably want to see proof of purchase from an authorized dealer.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with JVC's anti-theft systems, so I don't know if they're similar to Kenwood.  Your best option might be to contact JVC directly and see what help they can offer.

If, on the other hand, you're talking about the original Jeep radio that needs the code, you'd probably have to visit a Chrysler/Jeep dealer to have it reset.

Good luck,

Brian
