Car Stereos: Setting My Amp, kicker amp, line contour

Question
Hi, this might be a annoying question. i am very new to the audio world. I just bought two 12" flat-mount Pioneers (TS-SW3041D0) and i have them installed in a sealed box. Also i have them Parallel wired into a Kicker amp (SX605.1)allong with a 500K farad CAP.. As i went to set the amp, i dident know what to look for/ adjust to get the sound i want. But i do know what sound im looking for. I dont really listen to rap, im more of a rock, metal, heavy metal,(some rap),punk. I want a solid felt, strong beat. the specs on my amp are:
Frequency Responce: (20Hz-200Hz, +0/-1dB)
Input Sensitivity: (6.25Mv - 16V)
Signal-to-Noise ratio: (>98dB)
High Pass Frequency: (10Hz - 60Hz)
High Pass Slope: (0 - 24dB)
Low Pass Frequency: (30Hz - 200Hz)
Low Pass Slope: (0 - 48dB)
KickEQ Frequency: (20Hz - 200Hz)
KickEQ Bandwidth (Q): (.5 - 10)
KickEQ Boost/Cut: ((-18 - +18dB)(per Octave))
Gain: (0 - 12dB)
Kompressor: (Red-Line)(Contour)(Attack)(0ff)
Phase: (0 - 180 degrees)
(i have no idea what any on that means)
and a Remote bass level control

My head unit i have set to 0 of 6 bass, and 5 of 6 trebel for the door speakers.
(i like my highs high)
My question is, what settings on the amp should i adjust to get the sound im looking for. Should the the remote bass setting to the amp be on max, off, 1/2,  or 1/4, while setting the amp? I want to know what each setting would do to the sound of the music. ANy informaion you can give me would really be helpful.

Answer
Hi Blain,

There is no correct answer here.  Basically, you just need to find what sounds good to you.

Usually, I keep the bass & treble gain on the deck flat, as I let the music sound the way its producer thought it should.  And don't turn the bass up too much as you don't want it drowning out your highs.

Beyond that, play with the settings and find what you like.

I know it sounds like a cop out, but that's genuinely the way it is.

Also, make sure your subwoofers are using their own airspace.  (There is something separating them and sealed inside the box.)
