Car Stereos: One speaker loss sound, nissan 240sx, alpine cda

Question
Hello Justin,

I just recently bought a Alpine CDA-9886 for my 1992 Nissan 240sx hatchback. When i bought the car it already had a aftermarket stereo in there but it was terrible, so i bought a new one from best buy. My dad and I connected it and now the driver side front speaker doesn't put out any sound. The car already has aftermarket speakers in there too. Curious as to what the problem may be.

Answer
Hi Richard,

If there was sound before you removed it, the most likely scenario is that you simply missed a connection or didn't make a connection cleanly enough.  The speaker wire leads out of the aftermarket deck should be labelled; try just jostling them a bit.  If that makes it cut in/out, then disconnect and make a new clean connection to the wires.
