Car Stereos: 95 toyota cd player, toyota avalon, battery radio

I just bought a used 95 toyota avalon with l4200 3 disk in dash cd changer. I reset factory code for stereo as the previous owner had changed battery. radio works ok but doesn't turn up very loud and cd player had e 01 code on display. wont eject magazine or anything. I have tried reset button. btw when I bought car magazine was missing so i ordered new one from dealer. haven't actually ever heard cd player work yet. any suggestions?

Hi Tonya,

First thing to try is to disconnect the battery again as long as you have the code.  Wait 20 minutes, and reconnect.  Sometimes that's all it takes to reset cd changers and make them work again.

Unfortunately, with E01, if that doesn't do it, you're looking at repair/replacement.
