Car Stereos: Factory bose amp in a 04 chevy monte carlo, bose amp, chevy monte carlo

Question
I am installing a complete new upgraded a/v system in me 04 chevy monte carlo ls which all ready has a factory Bose system.  My question is that I noticed all of the factory speakers are 2ohm.  Can I retain the factory amp to run my new after market 4ohm front door speakers?  Is the factory amp bridgeable so that I can hook up both the front and rear channels (left front with left rear, and right with right) to run the 4 ohm speakers without sacrificing sound quality, volume, or the amp?  The subs and rear 6*9's are run off the new aftermarket head unit and amp,  I am just concerned about the best way to run the front, keeping the factory amp hooked up if possible.  Thanks

Answer
Hi James,

You can safely hook up HIGHER impedance speakers to an amplifier.  It's going lower that's an issue.  Hooking up your speakers in place shouldn't be an issue.  You will lose a little bit of power because of the higher impedance, but it'll likely not matter that much.
