Car Stereos: Kenwood dvd player has power, no sound, antenna wire, dvd player

I was wondering if my Kenwood dvd player was any good or not. It was running smoothly until it cut itself completely off one day and it hasn't worked since. The dvd player has power and everything but it has no sound. I unhooked everything and the antenna wire was melted and the harness looked to be burned too.

Hi Anthony,

First, make sure no wires are touching that shouldn't be.  Try to find the source of the melting.  Where's the heat coming from?  If the Kenwood itself is getting hot enough to burn/melt wires, then there's probably something wrong with it and it will need to be replaced.
