Auto Racing: Circle track racing set-up for honda civic, tom fowler, atlanta ga area

Question
Hi, I have a 1989 Honda civic Si and I was wondering what advise you could offer me on any settings or product which would improve it's over all performance.

Answer
Hi Lane :

Start with camber. 2 Deg. positive at the LF 4-5Deg. Negative at the RF
about  1 1/2 Deg Positive at teh LR and 2-3 Deg. Negative at the RR.

Your RF spring should be 50 Lbs. heavier than the LF,  and the RR should again be about 50 Lb. heavier than the LF.

I've done NO set up on Hondas. Around here, they don't race them on the circle tracks. They almost don't race any FWD cars at all. Another great source of info would be OPM Motorsports in the Atlanta, Ga. area. Tom Fowler is the guru there, and very few people know more about Honda's than Tom.

Get the book: "How To Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Phun. It's about $16 and worth every dime . If the book store doesn't have it, they can order, or try Amazon.com.

That's all I can contribute- - - bests of luck !!
