Answer
Hi Korbin:

I see you're in the US, that's a big plus.
Getting started in racing is easy, making a career of it is a bit more challenging.
The most important thing I can say to you is STAY IN SCHOOL. No matter what you want to do these days, a lack of education is the road to failure.

For now, think about going on to college and getting an engineering degree. keep taking all the math and science classes you can, and work very hard at them.  English is also important, if you speak like a hick, people will automatically look down on you.

Next, find a go cart track and start practicing as often as you can.  Go to <www.worldkarting.com> for info on sanctioned kart racing. Nearly all pro drivers have done some time on karts, the list reads like a hall of fame. Next, go to <www.scca.org>.  That's the Sports Car Club of America.  They sanction most of the rallying in the US and you can start participating right away. Believe me, they'll put you to work in a rally or race event within a few weeks. You can search for the region you live in, and find the local district, attend a meeting and basically you've started. I've been racing in SCCA for almost 21 years and it's a great group of people who will be willing to give you more personal acvice.

That should give you a start in the riight direction, when you need to know more , feel free to write again

Sincerely,
