Question
Is there a hose that connects to the manifold? Are missing hoses the reason why I have white smoke coming from my exhaust pipe? engine runs great!! I'm so stumped right now.

Answer
There can be a terrifying number of hoses that could connect to the intake, and yes without it can cause your symptoms.  One of the most common are ones that have to do with scavenging air out of the crankcase.  Usually they run from a valve cover to either a place on the carb, and can go into the intake.
Vacuum in the intake pulls the air out of the crankcase, otherwise you can end up with positive pressure in the crankcase, and oil vapors can push past the rings or other routes and cause smoke.  Every engine needs this scavenge.  If you don't have one, check around some yards and take a look how your engine and set up look under the hood of similar cars, and plumb one in accordingly.
A note on "smoke",  different kinds of smoke determine what the problem may be;  heavy white/bluish smoke is oil getting into your combustion chamber, light wispy smoke is coolant, and of course black swirly smoke is too much fuel and/or not enough air.  Do a little analyzing and include this info in your questions.  Thanks, and good luck, "blue"
