Auto Racing: turbo charging a carburated engine., sarasota florida, reliability problems

Question
I'm building a car for road racing and was wondering if the compresson ratio matters when adding a turbo. The motor is a stroked 350.

Answer
 Yes !

Basically anything over about an 8.0:1 CR will cause you serious reliability problems. Forged pistons will stand it for a while but not forever.

I don't know of any lower level road racing venue that still allows turbo charging .  SCCA doesn't

Anyhow, Good luck
