Auto Racing: 94 honda civic, pilot performance, honda civic ex

Question
Hi Jesse,

i've got a "performance mod chip", or whatever you want to call it, for my 1994 honda civic EX V-tec and i was just curious about it.. i haven't installed it yet because i was skeptical after buying it. would this cause engine damage in any way? ..the chip or mod is called proboost platinum... it installs somewhere near the left of the intake manifold, connecting to some sensor with 2 wires that i cant seem to find.. heres a link to show you exactly what i have.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Civic-Accord-CRX-Prelude-Pilot-Performance-... i'd really like to know if this would be safe to install. thanks!

Answer
I honestly would NOT use items like this. All this unit is doing is altering the voltage seen from the air intake temp sensor. You could try it, I doubt it would harm your motor, but I think they are useless. Do some research into a program called "chrome" if you are looking into more serious tuning.
