Auto Racing: turbo setup, old pontiacs, turbo setup

Question
I grew up repairing old Pontiacs and I am interested in putting a turbo setup in a 66/67 GTO convertible, but I don't know much about them.

I'd like to learn the technology and know how to do it.  Any help?

What type of box would I need? 6-al? 7-al?

In reference to your question are you meaning the MSD ignition boxes? I don't know honestly if you would need it at all. I would need to know more about what you want to do, but I would like to think you could get enough timing control of the distributor to satisfy lower levels of boost.
