Auto Racing: mini stock car racing, google search engine, rattle traps

Question
hello.I'm 13 years old and have taken a real fancy to mini stock car racing. I seen that you have had experience in racing and so i was wondering wether you have a any good links to websites for mini stock car racing or if you have any advice on getting into it,becoming able to complete and how i go about learning it.I'm not sure wether they're places that they teach you how to race in a mini stock car. I live Cornwall. If you know anywhere in cornwall that can help me learn to drive and a track that i can practice on so that i can compete.
Anything that i mentioned that u can do would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks ,Emma

Answer
Hi Emma ! Welcome to motorsports !!  I too would like to race mini stocks for a giggle or two. I've been a road racer all my life and a few laps on a circle track with a bunch of nuts like me sounds like a good time.

The first thing you should do is go to the Google search engine on your computer and type "mini stock racing " into the search window.  That will give you probably 50 web sites to look through about the subject.  Some of them will be adverts, but many others will be helpful.

Second , start a subscription to "Circle Track" magazine by going to their website, "www.circletrack.com" .

Something tells me you live in the UK is which case your subscription will cost US$42.00 or something like 26 to 27 LUK (sorry, that's the best I could do for a 'pounds' symbol)

I took a quick look at what Google offered and there was even a site address for mini stock activity in New Zealand, dirt tracks no less !!, which many of us here  in the US call the "ONLY real auto racing ". I've never done it  officially, but as a youth , certianly slung my old rattle traps around on our sandy beaches and fields.

I hope you will study hard in school, and get involved in racing as soon as you can.  At your age, you might be better off to try go karts first for a little experience before graduating to larger cars.

Please do write again with your progress.  Who knows , there may be room for a gal in Formula One someday !!

Best of luck !
