Auto Racing: Potential be a professional race driver, professional race, professional driver

Hi Adam
I am 27 years old and work as social worker in London. I wanted to know if it would be possible for me to ever become a professional driver. I find myself fairly good in my piers when it comes to karting competitions and I have few small trophies. I have entered a competition to see how I manage. I was wondering if you could advise me whether there are chances and if it could be a source of income. I would appreciate your advice if it was possible how I could best achieve it. Thanks
