Auto Racing: 1994 Mustang Swap, v8 car, mustang swap

Question
QUESTION: I have a 94 mustang with an automatic 3.8 V6 and its basically blown. Im really interested in gaining more power by swapping a v8 in it and i was specifically interested in the 99-04 4.6 GT Motor with 260 hp and 300 torque. Do you think it will fit? and is it worth it? because i can get the whole car for real cheap. I know i need to also swap the whole drivetrain since the v6 is smaller.

ANSWER: Victor-

If you can get the whole car cheap I would honestly just do that.  The motors can be swapped without much modification, but you're looking at quite a bit of time and effort.  Whether or not it's worth it is up to you.  Just remember that, while the swap isn't a nightmare, it's not exactly what I'd call easy.  You could probably save yourself a lot of time and busted knuckles just buying the whole car.  Hope this helps.

QUESTION: So the motors do fit? Great. Also, what mods do u think i might have to do to the body or maybe the engine bay? will the V8 motor mounts bolt right on or will i need to mod the chasis?
ANSWER: Victor-

It's been a long time since I did a 3.8L-4.6L swap, but if memory serves you'll need the engine brace (or K-member...call it whatever you want) from the V8 car as well.  Heck, as long as you're in there you might as well swap the front brakes, all 4 springs, and the rear end as well.  Your 3.8L car has a 7.5" rear end which, while not terrible, won't really hold up too well behind a V8.  The springs and brakes are particularly helpful since you'll have some extra weight in the car with the bigger engine.  Those aren't absolutely necessary, but they make a big difference.  Hope this helps.

QUESTION: Well once again thx alot for the help!! but i just found out i can get my hands on a nice 03-04 supercharged cobra parted out! samequesiton will it fit? and what parts might i need?

Answer
Victor-

Sure, it'll fit.  You might run into some issues with hood clearance with the blower on there, but I kind of doubt it.  You'll pretty much need the same parts as you'd need for a 2V 4.6L swap.  Just remember that you can't use the rear end out of the Cobra without a ton of work since it's an independent rear suspension setup.  It can be made to fit, but it's a nightmare.  Hope this helps.
